Rest in the Wrestle Retreat

2nd Annual With Inc. Retreat

April 26th-28th, 2019

The Cove
Asheville, NC

With Inc. is hosting a spiritual retreat entitled Rest in the Wrestle.  Come and join us as we think and talk together about how God calls out to us and joins us in the midst of our suffering and unexpectedly inspires us with the better hope of knowing him and ourselves as we live life together in community.  We’ll be reflecting on the life of the apostle Paul in the book of Philippians to discover and learn about Paul’s view of how suffering leads us to Rest in the Wrestle.

What if God planned for us to experience our deepest joy and rest as we journey through the desert and wilderness of our deepest fears and sorrows, together?

Who Is This For?

Rest in the Wrestle is designed for anyone who is feeling stuck, disappointed, baffled by life, or struggling to find any hope. Perhaps you can relate to some of the things past attendees have been wrestling with:

  • Feeling miserable at work
  • A struggling marriage
  • Grieving the loss of a loved one
  • Weariness in ministry
  • Fighting to overcome an addiction
  • Questioning things but afraid to talk to anyone about it
  • A single person afraid to hope and unsure how to fit into a world of couples
  • Just needing some encouragement

Come join us for an intimate weekend of discussion and reflection as we learn what it means to rest in the wrestle of life.

The Experience

We’ll be staying at The Cove, nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains near Asheville, NC. This beautiful location will be the setting for a weekend of community, reflection, and renewal.

I can honestly say I have never been part of a retreat like this. In a world where everyone has strong and differing opinions which has led to the ending of relationships, this was a refreshing time. We were given the space to wrestle with things we have been afraid to voice and yet we were met with love and curiosity by our speaker and the other attendees. I am going back!
– 2018 attendee

We’ll have group sessions and times for worship and prayer along with personal time to journal and reflect. There will also be free time to take a hike, soak up the sun, and enjoy the peaceful setting.

Last year’s retreat was a significant confidence boost in both my walk with Jesus and in the calling He’s placed on my life in this season. I was in a season of doubt and discouragement and the With retreat created a healthy space biblically and emotionally to help me move forward.

England Soul Care Retreat

August 23-31, 2019

England, United Kingdom

With Inc. is hosting its first annual soul care retreat in a beautiful country with rich history shared in a group setting. Join a group of twelve women, plus your guides for the week, Carrie Walker Louer and Beth Wayland, for a pause from regular life in a country filled with sites we do not normally get to encounter in our every day lives. Cathedrals, stunning parks, and the bucolic countryside will create a backdrop for us to take a moment to ask God to speak to us in a personal way. With a mixture of experiential excursions to moments of quiet reflection, we will guide your time around the theme of community with the Trinity and with one another.

Who Is This For?

This soul care retreat is designed for any woman feeling worn out, disappointed, tossed around by life, or struggling to find rest. Perhaps you can relate to some of these things:

  • I’ve lost my appreciation for the beauty of life.
  • I’m so tired of being the one to always plan everything.
  • I’d like to just sit back and enjoy the moment.
  • This monotonous routine is exhausting.
  • I just need some encouragement.

Join us in England for nine days of adventuring, community, rest, and enjoying the beauty of this magical place.

The Experience

There will be time to go and see some sites you have always wanted to see, some days will have more space than others.  At least one part of every day will be free for you to rest, be a tourist, wander alone and ponder things we’ve discussed or do whatever you need.  So this will be a little different than just coming to tour on a jam-packed schedule.

While in Oxford we will look at the lives of The Inklings (CS Lewis, Tolkien…) and the beauty and challenge of community. Without the community of the Inklings we wouldn’t have Narnia or Lord of the Rings. We’ll be staying at Christ Church, which is one of the 38 colleges that comprises Oxford University. It’s popular for being the place where Harry Potter was filmed. The dining hall (The Great Hall) in the movies was modeled after Christ Church’s dining hall. We will get to have our breakfasts in The Great Hall. I stayed here two years ago and just being on the grounds feels like you are a character in a novel. Which reminds me, Lewis Carroll also lived at Christ Church. History is all around you at Oxford.

He stood staring into the wood for a minute, then said: ‘What is it about the English countryside — why is the beauty so much more than visual? Why does it touch one so?’

People were never a task to her; we felt loved, believed in and challenged under her leadership. Carrie is now Executive Director of Mission/Culture with Cru City. She lives outside of NYC in New Jersey with her husband Bob and is working among the immigrants and refugees in her neighborhood. You are going to love Carrie.
