Rest In The Wrestle
We all wrestle.
With questions that don’t resolve, circumstances that don’t change, and parts of our own story that feel unfinished. The invitation of this retreat is not to escape the wrestle—but to learn how to rest within it.
Rest in the Wrestle is a space for ANYONE who needs to step away from the noise and return to what is most true: that even here, in the tension, God is present.
Kent and Karla Denlinger are two of our most trusted guides for this kind of space. Not because they offer polished answers, but because they embody something far more needed—honesty, humility, and a deep, lived relationship with Jesus. They show up without pretense, fully human, and in doing so, help others encounter Christ in the middle of their own wrestle.
Together, we will explore the counterintuitive road to joy through:
The Curiosity of God — a God who moves toward us, not away
The Humility of God — a God who meets us in our low places
The Delight of God — a God who enjoys and welcomes us as we are
The Desire for More with God — a deeper invitation into life with Him
This is not a retreat about fixing what’s hard. It’s about discovering that even in the midst of it, you are not alone.
When: Friday, October 23rd, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturday, October 24th, 9 am - 9 pm with a long afternoon break for some free time. Saturday night dinner included.
Where: Fellowship North - 3203 Tazewell Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Cost: $175
Days of Encouragement for Ministry Leaders & Counselors
Ministry leaders and counselors spend so much of their life tending to others—holding stories, offering wisdom, showing up with presence and care. And yet, the quiet demands of that work—the constant availability, the weight of others’ pain, the pressure to keep going—can slowly leave little space for your own soul to be attended to. This Thursday evening and Friday gathering is a space created just for you. A place to exhale, to laugh a little more than you expected, and to meet with Jesus in a way that feels gentle, honest, and unforced. Together, we’ll make room to notice your own inner life before God—without pressure, performance, or pretense. You’ll leave with a few meaningful practices to carry with you, but more than that, with a renewed sense of being seen, steadied, and quietly encouraged in the work you’ve been entrusted with. Lunch is provided on Friday—come as you are, and let yourself be cared for. We will make sure the coffee is good! No Folgers on our watch!
Who: For anyone in any type of ministry (Christian counselor, spiritual director, pastors, church staff, parachurch ministries, Young Life leaders, elders, deacons, lay leaders, church planters, volunteer church counselors, small group leaders, etc.)
When: Thursday, October 22nd, from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm and Friday, October 23rd, from 9 am - 3 pm.
Where: FellowshipNorth - 3203 Tazewell Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee.
